Sjoberg's Inc., a Minnesota-based cable operator, has initiated the deployment of InCoax technology as part of Nokia Gigabit Connect with MoCA Access. This technology aims to deliver fiber-based multi-gigabit broadband services over existing coaxial infrastructure
within apartment buildings, known as Multi-Dwelling Units (MDUs). The initial activation is part of a larger plan to cover approximately 30 to 40 buildings across Sjoberg's network. The solution is designed to be a cost-effective method for extending fiber-based services inside buildings where installing new fiber throughout the structure would be time-consuming, costly, and complex. This deployment represents a Fiber Access Extension use case, utilizing in-building coax to extend broadband from the building access point to individual subscribers.
