What's Happening?
A new grant initiative, Women Behind the Camera, is providing support to independent female filmmakers to shoot their projects on celluloid. Founded by filmmaker and actress Armida López, the grant is backed by production company 33 & Change Films, MasterBuilt
Lenses, and ASCF. The initiative aims to preserve the art of celluloid filmmaking and empower female directors. Selected grantees, chosen from 500 applicants, will receive a full lens package and additional camera support. Notable recipients include Anna Remus, LaTajh Simmons-Weaver, and the team of Mack Breeden and Riley Scott, who are working on projects that span various genres and themes.
