What's Happening?
Marriott International and Catalonia Hotels & Resorts have signed agreements to develop all-inclusive resorts in Montego Bay, Jamaica, and Zanzibar, Tanzania. The Montego Bay resort will open in 2028, featuring 522 rooms and extensive amenities. The Zanzibar resort,
set to open in 2027, will offer 271 guestrooms with a wellness focus. These projects are part of Marriott's strategy to expand its all-inclusive offerings in key leisure markets.
Why It's Important?
This expansion into all-inclusive resorts highlights Marriott's commitment to capturing a larger share of the growing leisure travel market. By increasing its presence in popular tourist destinations, Marriott aims to attract a diverse clientele seeking comprehensive vacation experiences. This move could enhance Marriott's competitive edge in the hospitality industry, potentially leading to increased market share and revenue growth. The development also underscores the importance of strategic partnerships in expanding global hospitality footprints.
