What's Happening?
The Bartlett Performing Arts & Conference Center (BPACC) has unveiled its fall season lineup, which includes performances by 80s icon John Waite and rising country star Brittney Spencer. While the Tennessee Shakespeare Company's outdoor production of
'Love's Labor's Lost' already kicked off the fall events, the regular season officially begins inside the theater with John Waite. BPACC Director Michael Bollinger discussed the upcoming schedule, highlighting Waite's performance of his hit songs like 'Missing You' and 'When I See You Smile.' The season also features a James Taylor tribute band called Hourglass, for which limited tickets are available, and a family-oriented show titled 'Super Scientific Circus.'
Why It's Important?
The announcement of BPACC's fall season is important for the local arts and culture scene, providing diverse entertainment options for the community. Featuring both established artists like John Waite and emerging talents such as Brittney Spencer, the center caters to a broad audience, from those nostalgic for 80s music to fans of contemporary country. This variety helps to enrich the cultural landscape of the area, offering residents opportunities to experience live performances across different genres. The inclusion of a family show like 'Super Scientific Circus' also underscores BPACC's commitment to engaging all age groups, fostering an appreciation for the arts from a young age. Such programming contributes to the local economy by attracting visitors and supporting artists, technicians, and venue staff. It also enhances the quality of life for residents by providing accessible cultural experiences.
What's Next?
As the fall season progresses, BPACC will host the scheduled performances, with John Waite's concert marking the official indoor season opening. Ticket sales for these events, particularly for popular acts and limited-availability shows like the James Taylor tribute, will be a key indicator of community engagement. BPACC will likely continue its efforts to promote the season through various channels, aiming to maximize attendance and ensure the success of each event. Looking ahead, the center will begin planning its future seasons, taking into account audience feedback, artistic trends, and community interests to curate a diverse and appealing program. The success of this fall season will inform future programming decisions and help BPACC maintain its role as a vital cultural hub.
