Pratt & Whitney has acquired Aiir Innovations, a company specializing in AI-enabled engine inspection software, to enhance its maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) capabilities. Aiir's software analyzes borescope video to identify potential issues,
significantly reducing inspection times and improving accuracy. This acquisition allows Pratt & Whitney to integrate AI into its workflows, providing faster and more consistent responses during engine inspections. The Christchurch Engine Center, a joint venture with Air New Zealand, is already utilizing the software for V2500 engine work, and Pratt & Whitney plans to expand its use across other engine models.
