Adidas, H&M Group, Inditex, and Bestseller have joined forces to launch the Apparel Recovery Coalition (ARC), an initiative aimed at addressing the global textile waste crisis. Supported by the U.S. Ghanaian non-profit The Or Foundation, ARC seeks to establish
a model for 'globally accountable Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR).' The coalition will funnel voluntary funds from these major European brands into countries that receive large volumes of exported secondhand apparel, such as Ghana. The pilot program will focus on upstream interventions to prevent waste from entering dumpsites and will invest in scaling existing circular fashion ecosystems, particularly at Accra's Kantamanto Market, one of the world's largest resale and upcycling hubs.
