Marktechpost has introduced a new extension called Token-Saver, designed to enhance the efficiency of querying large PDF documents. Developed by Arnav Rai during his internship, the extension performs local hybrid searches, citing exact page numbers while
maintaining document privacy. Token-Saver aims to reduce the number of tokens used by 92-98%, thereby improving cost-effectiveness and accuracy. The extension operates by extracting relevant passages from PDFs and presenting them to AI models, which helps in reducing the context window size and improving reasoning accuracy. The tool is particularly beneficial for handling large documents, as it minimizes the need to resend context on every query, thus saving resources.
