What's Happening?
Doosan Robotics has introduced a new AI-powered palletizing solution, PalletizHD+, aimed at automating palletizing processes while reducing engineering complexity and increasing flexibility in manufacturing. The system, launched at Automate 2026, is designed
to adapt to changing products, packaging formats, and production demands without the need for extensive reprogramming. PalletizHD+ can process up to 11 boxes per minute and handle up to four boxes simultaneously. It utilizes artificial intelligence to generate palletizing patterns based on box and pallet specifications, and its AI-enabled SwiftMove technology optimizes robot travel paths for improved speed and stability. The system is built on Doosan Robotics' proprietary PalletizOS operating platform, which includes features like AI-assisted pattern generation and a drag-and-drop interface. This launch is part of Doosan Robotics' broader strategy to develop AI-powered industrial automation solutions.
Why It's Important?
The introduction of PalletizHD+ by Doosan Robotics represents a significant advancement in the field of industrial automation, particularly for manufacturers facing the challenge of adapting to rapidly changing production requirements. By reducing the need for extensive reprogramming and offering a user-friendly interface, the system lowers the barrier for manufacturers to implement advanced automation solutions. This can lead to increased efficiency, reduced labor costs, and enhanced production flexibility, which are critical factors in maintaining competitiveness in the manufacturing sector. The use of AI in generating palletizing patterns and optimizing robot paths also highlights the growing role of artificial intelligence in industrial applications, potentially setting a precedent for future innovations in the field.
What's Next?
Doosan Robotics plans to expand its portfolio of AI-enabled robotics solutions beyond palletizing, with applications in areas such as welding and surface finishing. This expansion will leverage the company's expertise in robotics and software technologies, as well as its recent acquisition of ONExia, a North American automation specialist. The continued development of AI-powered solutions is likely to drive further innovation in industrial automation, offering manufacturers new tools to enhance productivity and adapt to evolving market demands.
