What's Happening?
Metallis Resources has commenced its 2026 field season at the Greyhound Project located in Central Idaho, USA. The exploration team has arrived at the 673-hectare site to begin preparations, including road and access maintenance, camp establishment, and target
validation in anticipation of drilling activities. The 2026 program is set to include diamond drilling, geological mapping, trenching, and geochemical sampling, focusing on the Greyhound Shear Zone. Initial drilling efforts will target the Rufus Zone, where previous exploration confirmed a mineralized shear zone with quartz veins containing gold, silver, lead, zinc, and antimony. The goal for this season is to better understand the geometry and continuity of higher-grade mineralized shoots within the system. Beyond the Rufus Zone, the team plans to explore additional target areas such as Republican, Bulldog, Akita, Idaho, Ridge Cut, and Birdie through ongoing mapping and sampling.
Why It's Important?
The Greyhound Project represents a significant exploration effort in a historically rich mining area, which was once a center for silver mining in the early 1900s. The renewed exploration activities by Metallis Resources could potentially lead to the discovery of economically viable mineral deposits, contributing to the local economy and the broader mining industry. The project’s success could also enhance Metallis Resources' portfolio and market position, attracting further investment and interest in the region. Additionally, the exploration could provide valuable geological insights into the mineralization patterns of the area, potentially leading to new mining opportunities.
What's Next?
Following the completion of mobilization activities and final target verification, Metallis Resources plans to commence drilling operations. The company anticipates generating a steady flow of updates as the field season progresses, with a focus on unlocking the broader potential of the Greyhound Property. The outcomes of this season's exploration could influence future investment decisions and strategic planning for Metallis Resources, as well as impact the local mining landscape.
