What's Happening?
U.S. Soccer, in collaboration with Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer, is expanding its grassroots coaching education initiatives. These programs aim to enhance the quality of youth soccer environments by providing free entry-level coaching education to local
leaders, including coaches, teachers, parents, and community organizers. The 'Coach for Community Initiative' offers free vouchers for U.S. Soccer Online Grassroots Coaching Courses. Additionally, several in-person Grassroots License Courses are being hosted by U.S. Soccer member organizations across Eastern Pennsylvania. These four-hour in-person courses are tailored to different game models (4v4, 7v7, 9v9, and 11v11) and include both classroom and field-based sessions. Coaches learn about U.S. Soccer’s Coaching Education Philosophy, Play-Practice-Play Methodology, and the Six Tasks of a Grassroots Coach, among other topics, to foster a player-centered approach.
