Sapphire Technology has introduced the EDGE+ Apex SOM/Carrier Robotics Platform, a new hardware platform powered by AMD Ryzen AI Embedded X100 Series processors. This platform is designed to enhance the development and deployment of physical AI in autonomous
robotics. The EDGE+ Apex platform was showcased at the AMD Advancing AI 2026 event in San Francisco. It features a COM-HPC module with up to 128GB of LPDDR5x memory and a purpose-built robotics carrier board, providing the necessary perception, planning, and control performance for autonomous machines. The platform supports real-time perception, complex scene understanding, and autonomous decision-making, making it suitable for continuous industrial operation.
