What's Happening?
NexGold Mining has announced the expansion of its reverse circulation infill drilling program at the Goldboro Gold Project in Nova Scotia, Canada, increasing the scope from 30,000 meters to 40,000 meters. The company reports high-grade gold intersections,
including 12.06 grams per tonne over 6 meters and 3.84 grams per tonne over 18 meters. The drilling aims to upgrade mineral resources from indicated to measured, focusing on near-surface mineralization within the West and East pits. Results from 3,420 meters of drilling have been released, with additional assays pending.
Why It's Important?
The expansion of the drilling program at Goldboro is significant for NexGold as it seeks to enhance the project's resource base and improve the accuracy of its mineral resource estimates. By upgrading resources to a measured category, NexGold can provide more reliable data for future mining operations, potentially increasing investor confidence and project valuation. The high-grade results also suggest the potential for economically viable mining operations, which could contribute to the local economy and job creation.
What's Next?
NexGold plans to continue its drilling program into the fourth quarter, with results expected to be included in an updated mineral resource estimate. The company is also working on an updated Feasibility Study, anticipated to be completed in the third quarter of 2026. These developments will be crucial for advancing the Goldboro project towards production, with potential implications for the company's growth and strategic planning.
