Saudia Cargo and Riyadh Cargo have entered into an interline agreement aimed at integrating their cargo networks to expand access to international markets. This partnership is designed to provide freight customers with more flexible, efficient, and reliable
shipping solutions. The agreement allows both companies to leverage their networks and operational capabilities, offering broader access to regional and international markets. Riyadh Cargo, backed by the Public Investment Fund, plans to expand its international reach, with current destinations including London, Dubai, and Cairo, and future plans for Mumbai and Kuala Lumpur. The collaboration is expected to improve the movement of goods between markets by extending services beyond individual networks.
Why It's Important?
The agreement is significant as it supports Saudi Arabia's ambition to become a leading global logistics hub, aligning with the National Transport and Logistics Strategy and Saudi Vision 2030. By enhancing cargo network integration, the partnership aims to improve connectivity between major commercial centers, facilitating smoother access to international markets. This move is expected to increase available cargo capacity and improve the efficiency of transporting goods, benefiting freight forwarders and logistics providers. The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to advancing the Kingdom's logistics industry and responding effectively to evolving market requirements.
What's Next?
The interline agreement is expected to support Riyadh Cargo's long-term objective of developing a global network covering more than 100 destinations by 2030. As the partnership progresses, it will likely create new opportunities for international trade and strengthen Riyadh's role as a key gateway for global logistics. The increased network integration could simplify cargo movements and support more efficient supply chains. The collaboration will also contribute to the Kingdom's broader efforts to develop a competitive logistics ecosystem capable of serving growing regional and global trade flows.
