Graphite One, a Canadian graphite supplier, is advancing its plans to enhance the U.S. electric vehicle (EV) battery supply chain by establishing a new processing facility in Ohio. This development is part of a broader strategy to onshore graphite supply for
EV batteries and other energy storage applications. The company has secured a site in Conneaut, Ohio, and plans to ship graphite from its mine in Alaska to this facility. The move aims to reduce dependency on overseas suppliers, particularly from China, and mitigate geopolitical risks. Graphite One's facility will initially have a capacity of 10,000 metric tons per year, with plans to expand to 25,000 metric tons. The company is also engaging with an engineering firm to integrate production line services, ensuring efficient operations.
