What's Happening?
Litera, a legal AI platform provider, has announced the launch of Clean+, a cloud-hosted evolution of its Metadact Server. This new service offers server-grade metadata protection for law firms, helping them remove hidden document data from outbound email
attachments across Outlook environments without requiring additional IT infrastructure. Clean+ is designed to address the risks associated with metadata in legal documents, which can expose privileged information and breach client confidentiality. The service is integrated into Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, providing a seamless experience for legal professionals.
Why It's Important?
The introduction of Clean+ is crucial for law firms as it enhances the security of their communications by eliminating metadata risks. As the volume of outbound documents increases with the use of AI in legal drafting, the potential for metadata exposure also rises. Clean+ provides a reliable solution by offering deterministic, rules-based metadata protection, ensuring that sensitive information is not inadvertently shared. This development is expected to improve trust and confidence in legal communications, allowing lawyers to focus on their practice without worrying about data breaches.
What's Next?
Litera plans to continue expanding its suite of AI-driven legal solutions, with Clean+ being part of a broader consolidation of its Metadact line under the Clean brand. The company aims to provide a clear tier of protection for every deployment model, including desktop, cloud, and server environments. Existing Metadact Server customers will receive dedicated migration support, and general availability of Clean+ is set for June 30. Litera will showcase demos of Clean+ at LegalTechTalk in London, highlighting its commitment to advancing legal technology.
