Cambricon, a China-based designer of AI chips and accelerators, has achieved Platinum membership in the PyTorch Foundation. This new status grants Cambricon a seat on both the Governing Board and the Technical Advisory Council of the Foundation. Jin Wang,
Senior Director of AI Frameworks and Infrastructure at Cambricon, will join the Governing Board, while Jing Zhu, Lead Maintainer at Cambricon, will join the Technical Advisory Council. This move signifies Cambricon's transition from primarily a domestic AI chip manufacturer to a significant participant in the global open-source AI software ecosystem.
