Rolex has introduced the Perpetual Padellone, a new watch that integrates an annual calendar and moonphase display into its Perpetual collection. Launched in Milan, this new model draws inspiration from the vintage Rolex reference 8171, known as the Padellone.
The watch features a 39mm case and displays the date, day, month, moonphase, hours, minutes, and seconds. It is powered by the new caliber 7190 movement, developed exclusively for this model, which operates at 5 Hz and includes Rolex’s Dynapulse escapement technology and a new annual-calendar mechanism called Haplos. The movement is associated with 30 patent applications. The Perpetual Padellone is available in three versions: an 18k Everose gold model with a new Settimo bracelet, another Everose gold version on a brown alligator leather strap, and a platinum model with an ice-blue dial and black alligator strap. Prices for these limited-quantity watches range from $59,000 to $72,000.
