What's Happening?
The Clearing House (TCH) is actively seeking an experienced Workday Application Manager to support and manage its expanding Workday platform. TCH currently utilizes Workday for Human Capital Management (HCM), Financials, Expenses, Advanced Compensation,
and Adaptive Planning, with plans to implement Procurement and Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM). The Workday environment at TCH includes numerous integrations with financial institutions, benefits providers, internal systems, and identity/access management platforms, leveraging Workday Studio, APIs/web services, and SFTP/file-based integrations. The Application Manager will serve as the primary internal technical owner and senior administrator for the Workday platform, coordinating specialized Workday resources while also performing hands-on administration, configuration, security management, and troubleshooting for complex platform needs. This role is not expected to be the sole administrator across all modules but will oversee external resources and maintain overall accountability for the platform's stability and development.
Why It's Important?
This recruitment by The Clearing House underscores the critical importance of robust Workday management within the U.S. financial services sector. As a bank-owned industry utility that operates significant payment systems, TCH relies heavily on its Workday platform for managing its workforce, finances, and operational processes. The expansion into Procurement and CLM, along with extensive integrations, highlights the growing complexity and strategic importance of Workday for TCH's core operations. A skilled Workday Application Manager is essential to ensure data integrity, security compliance, and the smooth functioning of these critical systems. The role's responsibility for coordinating external resources and maintaining accountability for the platform's stability directly impacts TCH's ability to provide safe, reliable, and efficient payment services, which are foundational to the U.S. financial infrastructure. Effective Workday management is crucial for TCH to adapt to evolving business needs and regulatory requirements.
What's Next?
The Workday Application Manager will be responsible for assessing incidents, enhancements, and projects, determining the necessary Workday expertise, and coordinating assignments through completion. This includes serving as a lead administrator for Workday security, configuring and maintaining business processes, and overseeing Workday integrations. The manager will also coordinate Workday releases, testing, configuration changes, and production deployments, ensuring adherence to documentation, testing, security, and change-management processes. A key aspect of the role is to maintain sufficient internal knowledge of the Workday environment to reduce dependency on individual contractors or vendors. This strategic approach aims to ensure continuity and resilience in TCH's Workday operations, supporting the ongoing development and implementation of new capabilities while maintaining platform stability and security. The manager will also support the transition-to-operations activities for new Workday functionalities.
