Sounds Good Organization, a Toronto-based not-for-profit, is launching an intimate concert series called Sounds Good Live to support emerging Canadian artists. The initiative aims to provide a platform for R&B, soul, and urban artists to gain exposure
and professional content. Monthly concerts are held at the Poetry Jazz Café on Queen Street West, offering a small, intimate setting for performances. These events are professionally recorded, with full performances and individual songs uploaded to the organization’s YouTube channel, providing artists with polished content for their portfolios. Amber Ashley, a co-founder and director, describes the series as Toronto's version of NPR's Tiny Desk, emphasizing raw, unmanipulated vocal performances. The organization also ensures that 100% of audience tips go directly to the performing artists, and it covers production, promotion, and audience development, allowing musicians to focus on their craft.
