Evion Group has announced a multi-phase exploration program at the Carp Fluorspar Project in Nevada, USA. The initiative aims to target acid-grade mineralization through a systematic approach, beginning with a drone-based magnetic survey to explore the Carp system at depth.
This marks the first modern, integrated exploration of the Carp carbonate-replacement fluorspar system since the 1970s. The project covers 59 unpatented lode claims over approximately 493 hectares in the Viola Mining District, about 140 kilometers northeast of Las Vegas. The exploration will focus on a newly identified north-west corridor, with near-term priorities including a magnetic survey to map structural architecture and surface geochemical sampling to characterize the primary target zone. The data collected will help generate a structural interpretation and 3D inversion model to guide further exploration. Evion's Managing Director, David Round, emphasized the importance of this work program as a direct result of a geological review, aiming to convert the geological framework into drill-ready targets.

The exploration of the Carp Fluorspar Project is significant due to fluorspar's designation as a critical mineral by the US and other major economies. The United States currently imports 100% of its fluorspar requirements, with no substantial domestic production since 1990.
