Agriculture drone startup Suind is set to raise Rs 20.5 crore (approximately $2.2 million) in a fresh funding round led by Transition Venture Capital Fund. The Bengaluru-based company has approved the issuance of 5,107 compulsorily convertible preference
shares to raise the capital. Transition Venture Capital Fund will invest Rs 20 crore, while CIIE Initiatives will infuse Rs 50 lakh. Founded in 2020, Suind develops autonomous drone solutions for agriculture, with its flagship platform, Bumblebee, combining computer vision with autonomous navigation to help farmers monitor crops, detect issues, and carry out precision spraying with minimal human intervention.

The investment in Suind highlights the growing interest in the agriculture drone ecosystem in India, driven by demand for precision farming and government support for drone adoption. The fresh capital will enable Suind to expand the use of its drone technology beyond agriculture and into industrial applications. This funding round values Suind at around Rs 80 crore (approximately $8.4 million) on a post-money basis. The company's focus on autonomous drone solutions positions it to capitalize on the increasing need for efficient and precise agricultural practices, potentially transforming the way farming is conducted in India.
What's Next?
Following the allotment, Transition Venture Capital Fund will become Suind's largest external shareholder with a 25% stake. Co-founders Kunal Shrivastava and Kevin Kleber will each continue to hold 25.08% in the company, while Sunicon Ventures and CIIE Initiatives will own 9.22% and 0.62%, respectively. Suind plans to use the fresh capital to expand its technology into industrial applications, potentially opening new revenue streams. The company is yet to file its financial statements for FY26, but its latest available filings indicate it is still in the pre-revenue stage. The success of this funding round could attract further investment and partnerships, accelerating the adoption of drone technology in agriculture and beyond.
