What's Happening?
Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Jihaad Campbell has decided to change his jersey number from 30 to 11, following the departure of wide receiver A.J. Brown to the New England Patriots. Campbell, who wore No. 11 during his college career at Alabama, was
a first-round pick by the Eagles in the 2025 NFL Draft. In his rookie season, Campbell recorded 80 tackles, one interception, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery over 17 games, including 10 starts. A.J. Brown, a three-time All-Pro, was traded to the Patriots in exchange for a 2028 first-round pick and a 2027 fifth-round selection.
Why It's Important?
The jersey number change signifies a new chapter for both Jihaad Campbell and the Philadelphia Eagles. With A.J. Brown's departure, the Eagles are looking to reshape their team dynamics, and Campbell's adoption of the No. 11 jersey could symbolize his rising prominence within the team. This move also highlights the ongoing adjustments within the Eagles' roster as they aim to build a competitive team for the upcoming seasons. The trade of a key player like Brown for future draft picks indicates the Eagles' strategy to invest in long-term growth and development.
