What's Happening?
The 2026 ESPYS, held in New York City and hosted by comedian Marcello Hernández, celebrated outstanding achievements in sports. Jalen Brunson of the New York Knicks was a standout, winning awards for Best Athlete – Men’s Sports, Best Championship Performance,
and Best NBA Player. His team, the Knicks, also received the Best Team award after ending a 53-year championship drought by defeating the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals. On the women's side, A'ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces was recognized as Best Athlete – Women’s Sports and Best WNBA Player. The event also honored Jason Collins with the Arthur Ashe Courage Award and Stephen Curry with the Muhammad Ali Sports Humanitarian Award.
