United Talent Agency (UTA) has introduced a new tool called the 'UTA Culture Canon' and its first-ever Culture Index at the Cannes Lions 2026 Festival of Creativity. This index is designed to quantify the cultural significance of brands by using public
intelligence, proprietary data, and perception analysis. The Culture Index evaluates brands based on three factors: reach, resonance, and relevance. Reach is assessed through metrics like social following and press mentions, resonance through year-over-year growth, and relevance through qualitative research into cultural perception. UTA's report analyzed 10,000 brands across 44 industries, highlighting the importance of cultural relevance in consumer engagement and brand trust.
