What's Happening?
Mirabelles Bakery, based in South Burlington, Vermont, is set to take over two Kitchen Table locations: a full-service restaurant in Richmond and a market and café in South Burlington. The transition is expected to be completed by the end of September.
The bakery, co-owned by Jake Kent, will continue to operate its existing takeout location. The expansion will include a new restaurant named 'Belles on the River,' offering an 'elevated casual' menu with brunch and dinner services. The move comes as the current building housing Mirabelles is acquired by Beta Technologies for expansion.
Why It's Important?
This expansion marks a significant growth opportunity for Mirabelles Bakery, allowing it to reach a broader customer base and diversify its offerings. The acquisition of the Kitchen Table locations aligns with the bakery's strategy to enhance its market presence and leverage its reputation for quality baked goods. The move also reflects a trend of consolidation in the food industry, where businesses seek to optimize resources and expand their footprint. The success of this expansion could set a precedent for other local businesses considering similar growth strategies.
