Tesla has extended its ridesharing service in the Bay Area to include San Francisco International Airport (SFO), allowing users to request rides directly to and from the airport. This expansion follows Tesla's acquisition of a limousine permit for SFO operations,
effective from March 2026 to January 2027. Tesla vehicles involved in this service display authorized limousine permits issued by the City and County of San Francisco. The service utilizes Tesla's Model Y vehicles equipped with Full Self-Driving technology, although human safety drivers are present to comply with state regulations. This move is part of Tesla's broader strategy to enhance its mobility services in California, having previously expanded to San Jose Mineta International Airport.
