What's Happening?
Star Gold has secured approval from the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to proceed with exploration, geotechnical testing, and well drilling at its Longstreet gold project in Nevada's Walker Lane Belt. The project involves developing 11 drill sites,
installing three water wells, and excavating five geotechnical test pits over a 3.7-acre disturbance area. This approval is a critical step in completing the engineering work necessary for federal and state operational permit applications. The drilling aims to provide additional information on the gold and silver resources, including grade and spatial continuity within the identified mineralized area. Data from the water wells and test pits will aid in designing the heap leach pad, essential for the project's future operations.
Why It's Important?
The approval marks a significant milestone for Star Gold, enabling the company to advance its resource and development strategy at Longstreet. By securing this regulatory green light, Star Gold can progress its exploration and engineering efforts, which are crucial for the project's development. The data collected will support the design of the heap leach pad, a vital component for the project's operational phase. This development reflects Star Gold's methodical approach to resource management and its commitment to delivering value to shareholders. The project, covering approximately 2,600 acres, is poised to contribute to the local economy and the broader mining sector by potentially increasing gold and silver production.
