Eve Air Mobility has entered a new phase of flight testing for its electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) engineering prototype. After completing three months of software uploads and ground testing, the prototype is now back in the air, as announced
by CEO Johann Bordais at the Farnborough Airshow. The prototype, which first flew in December 2025, has completed 59 flights and logged 2.5 hours of flight time. The company is now in the 'transition kickoff' phase, aiming to shift from lift rotors to full wingborne flight by the end of the year. Eve is targeting local Brazilian certification and FAA and EASA validation by 2028. The company has also announced new letters of intent (LOIs), including one from Moov for up to 30 eVTOLs to explore advanced air mobility opportunities in Cabo Verde and Europe, and another from Shearwater Global Capital for up to 16 eVTOLs to provide leasing solutions.
