What's Happening?
Wärtsilä has entered into a five-year lifecycle agreement with Pardus Energy, an Ireland-based company, to support the operation of the floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) TURQUOISE P. This agreement, effective from April 2026, includes contract
management, maintenance planning, and spare parts support for the vessel, which operates at the ETKI LNG terminal in Aliaga, Türkiye. The TURQUOISE P, commissioned in 2019, is equipped with Wärtsilä systems. The agreement aims to provide Pardus Energy with OEM spare parts support and maintenance planning, including preparations for planned 36K and 48K overhaul events during the contract period. Henrik Wilhelms, Director of Agreement Sales at Wärtsilä Marine, emphasized that the agreement is designed to enhance reliability, reduce operational risk, and facilitate long-term operational planning for Pardus Energy.
Why It's Important?
This agreement is significant as it underscores the importance of reliable operations and maintenance planning for FSRU vessels, which are critical in the LNG supply chain. By securing a long-term service agreement with Wärtsilä, Pardus Energy can ensure the efficient operation of its FSRU, thereby enhancing its ability to meet energy demands. This move could potentially influence other companies in the LNG sector to adopt similar strategies for operational reliability and risk reduction. The agreement also highlights the role of OEM expertise in maintaining complex maritime systems, which is crucial for the sustainability and safety of energy infrastructure.
