U.S.-based Fairbanks Morse Defense (FMD) is investing €6.98 million ($8.09 million) to expand its Vestdavit manufacturing facility in Redzikowo, Poland. This expansion aims to nearly double FMD's production output in Poland, specifically targeting an 80%
boost in annual davit production by 2027. The Redzikowo site is set to become a global Davit Manufacturing Centre of Excellence (DMCoE), catering to the increasing demands of NATO and European naval forces for both crewed and autonomous vessel handling systems. The investment includes €5 million for expanding the physical footprint and €1.9 million for production equipment and a new test yard, increasing the site's floor space from 3,000 to 5,600 square meters.
