What's Happening?
Stavely Minerals has commenced a diamond drilling program at the Freddy's Find prospect in western Victoria. The initiative aims to explore beneath previously identified gold-silver intercepts. The drilling involves a diamond hole, STDD0002, planned to reach
depths between 350m and 500m, following up on earlier reverse circulation (RC) drilling results. The RC hole, STRC0132, had revealed significant epithermal gold-silver mineralization, including notable gold equivalent grades over several meters. The drilling has confirmed a large hydrothermal breccia system, indicating a substantial opportunity for discovering a significant epithermal gold-silver deposit. The current program will further investigate these mineralized intervals to assess the potential for a large porphyry system. Additionally, Stavely plans to test the S4 prospect, a large gravity low southwest of Freddy's Find, which could potentially merge with Freddy's Find to form a larger porphyry complex.
Why It's Important?
The deep drilling at Freddy's Find is significant as it could lead to the discovery of a substantial gold-silver deposit, which would have considerable economic implications. Such a discovery could enhance Stavely Minerals' portfolio and potentially increase its market value. The exploration also contributes to the broader mining sector by potentially adding to the global supply of gold and silver, which are critical for various industries, including electronics and jewelry. Successful exploration could attract further investment into the region, boosting local economies and creating job opportunities. Moreover, the findings could provide valuable geological insights into the Cambrian Stavely Arc, aiding future exploration efforts.
What's Next?
Stavely Minerals plans to continue its exploration efforts by conducting follow-up RC drilling to refine the spacing around the initial findings. The company also intends to drill 10 to 12 RC holes at the S4 prospect to explore early-stage opportunities. If these efforts prove successful, the S4 target could integrate with Freddy's Find, potentially forming a larger multi-phase porphyry complex. The outcomes of these explorations will likely influence Stavely's strategic decisions and could lead to further drilling programs or partnerships to develop the site.
