Zac and Meghan Crow have launched a new self-pour franchise, Tapster, in the LoHi neighborhood of Denver. Opened on June 26, the establishment features 54 taps, three-quarters of which are dedicated to local brews. The remaining taps offer a variety of beverages
including seltzers, ciders, cocktails, hard liquor, and nonalcoholic drinks. Customers can use a Tapster-branded card to pour their own drinks, with prices varying by the ounce. The Crows, both Colorado natives and alumni of Colorado State University, have infused local elements into the franchise, such as using Aspen wood from Cañon City for the tap wall and commissioning local artists for murals. The couple signed a 10-year lease for the 2,800-square-foot space, investing $500,000 in construction and permitting. Tapster aims to provide a social environment with minimal labor requirements, leveraging technology to reduce waste and theft.
