What's Happening?
Indigenous New York Fashion Week (INYFW) is set to run from September 10-15, 2026, coinciding with the broader New York Fashion Week. This event will feature 30 Indigenous designers, 120 Indigenous models, and an entirely Indigenous-led hair, makeup,
styling, and production team. It is being presented in partnership with the Council of Fashion Designers of America, with runway presentations livestreamed from Rockefeller Center. The event aims to amplify Indigenous designers, artists, and storytellers within the fashion industry. Beyond the runway shows, INYFW will host a week-long series of pop-up markets, brand activations, VIP events, artist talks, and a headline concert at TV Eye. Co-founders and executive directors Korina Emmerich (Puyallup) and Liana Shewey (Mvskoke) established INYFW through their Indigenous-owned community arts organization, Relative Arts, to create a global platform for Indigenous talent.
