Oryon Cell Therapies, a clinical-stage biotechnology company based in Watertown, Massachusetts, has announced the appointment of Kenny Choi, Ph.D., as its new Chief Technical Officer (CTO). Dr. Choi will be responsible for leading Oryon’s technical operations
and Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC) strategy. A key part of his role will involve overseeing the transfer of the manufacturing process for the company’s autologous iPSC-derived dopaminergic neuron therapy from Mass General Brigham (MGB) to Oryon’s own manufacturing facilities. This move is crucial for scaling up production to support late-stage clinical development and eventual commercial launch of their therapies. Dr. Choi brings over fifteen years of experience in technical operations, process development, and CMC strategy within the cell therapy sector, having contributed to numerous INDs and three Biologics License Applications (BLAs) for autologous cell therapies.
