What's Happening?
The Evansville Wartime Museum is hosting the Columbus Indiana Huey helicopter for its annual Vietnam Weekend on August 8 and 9. The event, which was a success last year, offers helicopter rides that provide a bird’s-eye view of Evansville. The rides are
available on a first-come, first-served basis, costing $100 per person and $50 for children aged 12 and under. In addition to the ride ticket, attendees must purchase regular museum admission. The event aims to offer a unique experience while educating the public about military history.
Why It's Important?
The return of the Huey helicopter rides at the Evansville Wartime Museum serves as both an educational and recreational opportunity for the community. It allows participants to engage with military history in an interactive way, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of the past. The event also supports the museum's mission to preserve and share wartime history, potentially increasing visitor engagement and financial support for the museum.
