What's Happening?
Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has recently given fans a closer look at her new pear-shaped diamond ring through an Instagram post. The ring, which she first debuted at the One805LIVE! charity concert last September, features a yellow gold setting
similar to her engagement ring from Prince Harry. The ring was also seen during the NBA All-Star Game in February. According to Ajay Anand, CEO of Rare Carat, the center stone appears to be around 6 carats. While Markle often chooses lab-grown diamonds, which would value the ring between $5,000 and $6,000, a natural diamond of this size could be worth between $100,000 and half a million dollars, depending on its quality.
Why It's Important?
The unveiling of Meghan Markle's new diamond ring has sparked interest and speculation among fans and jewelry enthusiasts. The ring's potential connection to Princess Diana's collection adds a layer of intrigue, as Markle's engagement ring already includes diamonds once owned by Diana. This new piece could signify a personal or familial connection, enhancing its sentimental value. The choice between lab-grown and natural diamonds also highlights ongoing discussions in the jewelry industry about sustainability and ethical sourcing. Markle's fashion choices continue to influence trends and public interest, reflecting her status as a style icon.
