A man has been arrested in Tulsa, Oklahoma, for allegedly posing as a UPS driver to steal thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from a Best Buy store. According to the Tulsa Police Department (TPD), employees at the Best Buy near 71st Street and Highway
169 reported a man dressed as a UPS driver picking up merchandise on August 24. The suspect reportedly arrived at the back of the store in a pickup truck and was granted access to a shipping area, where he took packages intended for customers. Police stated that the man used this scheme multiple times before store management grew suspicious. On August 28, he returned but was denied entry. The Mingo Valley Street Crimes Unit investigated, using Automatic License Plate Readers to identify the truck. On September 3, officers located the truck outside a pawn shop near 31st and Sheridan and conducted a traffic stop. The driver matched surveillance images and had a UPS identification badge in his wallet. Investigators confirmed he had previously worked for UPS but had not returned his company ID and uniform after his employment ended.
