VENEX Company Limited, a joint venture of The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited (Towngas), has been awarded the Global Sustainable Transport Certification (GSTC) at the Shanghai International Shipping Green Fuel Sustainable Development Conference.
This certification, a first for a Hong Kong company, recognizes VENEX's efforts in sustainable transport fuel production. The GSTC framework evaluates the entire lifecycle of transport fuels, from raw materials to end products, ensuring compliance with sustainability standards. VENEX's green methanol project in Inner Mongolia, which converts waste materials into methanol, has successfully met these standards.
