Anthropic's AI, Claude, has been updated to include the capability of sending Gmail messages on behalf of its users. This new functionality is part of the Claude connector for Google Workspace, which has been available
for over a year for managing Google accounts. Previously, the AI could assist with various tasks, but this marks the first time it can generate and send emails. Users can now provide prompts to Claude to draft, reply to, or forward emails. The system offers a choice for users to either approve each message before sending or allow Claude to send messages without a final check. By default, approval is required for all messages, though users on Team and Enterprise plans may have owners decide if actions can run without repeated requests for approval.
