Wscripted has announced the finalists for its 2026 Cannes Screenplay List, focusing on screenplays by women and non-binary writers. The selection of 12 projects was curated by an international jury, including
Emmy and Golden Globes-winning actress Elisabeth Moss, Greek-American filmmaker Daphne Schmon, and Vietnamese filmmaker Ash Mayfair. Moss, known for her roles in 'The Handmaid’s Tale' and 'Mad Men', has been a strong advocate for female representation in the film industry. Schmon, who is also the executive director of Breaking Through The Lens, supports women and queer-led projects at the financing stage. Mayfair's work includes the award-winning film 'The Third Wife'. The initiative aims to discover and promote new voices in the film industry, providing a path to production for underrepresented filmmakers.
