What's Happening?
The Skills2Advance Construction program in Ontario has successfully graduated twelve participants, equipping them with industry-recognized training for careers in the skilled trades. The program, conducted at Six Nations Polytechnic in Brantford, offers
training in welding and carpentry, with a focus on modular home building. Graduates also complete an eight-week work placement with local employers, providing practical experience. The program aims to address labor shortages in the Grand Erie region by increasing the supply of skilled trades workers. Graduates have earned certifications in various areas, including welding, forklift operation, and occupational health and safety.
