What's Happening?
Domtar has officially appointed Craig Helgeson as the general manager of its Nekoosa paper mill in Wisconsin. Helgeson had been serving in the role on an interim basis since July. He brings 34 years of experience in the paper industry, having worked at
10 mills throughout his career. Before joining Domtar, he held leadership positions with Pixelle Specialty Solutions, including general manager roles at their mills in Chillicothe, Ohio, and Stevens Point, Wisconsin. Helgeson holds a degree in paper science engineering from the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point. The Nekoosa mill is an integrated facility that produces specialty papers, printing papers, and base papers for functional coatings, such as thermal papers, point-of-sale receipts, labels, and carbonless papers. The mill operates three paper machines and a fiber line, with an annual paper capacity of approximately 168,000 short tons and currently employs 431 individuals.
