What's Happening?
A recent survey conducted by Talker Research and commissioned by Discover Puerto Rico highlights the significant role women play in planning group travel. The survey, which included 2,000 women across various generations, found that women are primarily
responsible for organizing group trips, with 76% of these trips never materializing. Women reportedly spend an average of 19 hours over 11 days planning trips, with key tasks including selecting destinations, finding lodging, and booking flights. Safety is a top priority for women travelers, with 89% emphasizing its importance. Preferred destinations are those that are easy to reach and do not require a passport, with beach and coastal areas being the most favored.
Why It's Important?
The survey underscores the pivotal role women play in the travel industry, particularly in group travel planning. This has implications for travel companies and destinations aiming to attract female travelers, as they must prioritize safety, accessibility, and quality experiences. The findings suggest that businesses in the travel sector could benefit from tailoring their offerings to meet the preferences and priorities of women, who are often the decision-makers in travel planning. This could lead to increased customer satisfaction and loyalty, as well as a potential boost in revenue from this demographic.
