What's Happening?
BDO has recruited three new partners with backgrounds in Big Four firms to its Australian operations. Kylie Meaney joins the CFO Advisory team in Brisbane after over two decades at Ernst & Young, while Emma Wright returns to BDO's Deals practice in Perth,
having previously worked at Deloitte and Mainsheet Capital. Matthew Fregona, formerly of KPMG and Santos, joins the corporate and international tax team in Adelaide. These appointments are part of BDO's strategy to enhance its capabilities in technical accounting, transactions, and tax advisory services.
Why It's Important?
The recruitment of experienced professionals from Big Four firms underscores BDO's commitment to strengthening its service offerings in Australia. Meaney's expertise in technical accounting and financial reporting will support CFOs facing complex challenges, while Wright's experience in transactions and strategic growth will enhance BDO's mid-market capabilities. Fregona's background in tax advisory for ASX-listed companies and multinational groups will provide valuable insights into regulatory and governance frameworks. These strategic hires are expected to enhance BDO's competitive position in the Australian consulting market.
