water heaters. The funding round was led by Asymmetric Capital Partners, with participation from Founder Collective and MCJ. Reservoir's smart water heaters use predictive heating and artificial intelligence to learn water consumption patterns and activate the heat pump at the most efficient times. The company has already installed about 100 devices in homes around Boston and plans to expand to 1,000 installations by the end of next year. The smart water heaters are expected to contribute to grid stabilization by storing energy as hot water.
