What's Happening?
German engineering firm Sonplas has unveiled new explosion-proof thermal chambers designed to test components of fuel and energy systems in hazardous environments. These chambers are intended to support the testing of components such as injectors, pumps,
pressure sensors, and complete fuel systems under dynamic conditions. The systems can simulate a wide range of temperatures, from -60°C to 180°C, to accommodate both cold-start and high-temperature scenarios. A nitrogen inerting system is used to prevent oxygen from entering the test environment, thereby reducing the risk of combustion when testing components exposed to flammable or explosive media. The chambers are designed with technical equipment mounted above the test enclosure, allowing for flexible test configurations.
