Mainly Mozart, a 37-year-old San Diego nonprofit, has announced the appointment of acclaimed New York pianist and veteran music festival curator Anne-Marie McDermott as the Artistic Director of its Spotlight Chamber Music Series. McDermott previously
curated the Spotlight series from 2011 to 2020 and recently concluded a 16-year tenure as Artistic Director for Bravo! Vail Music Festival in Colorado. Concurrently with her appointment, Mainly Mozart and McDermott have unveiled the schedule for their 2027 Spotlight series. The series will feature a dozen concerts held on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays between late January and early May at various venues, including concert halls and private homes. Notably, the 2027 series marks the return of Spotlight performances to The Scripps Research Auditorium in La Jolla, a venue not utilized since the 2020 pandemic shutdown.
