What's Happening?
Taihan Cable & Solution has expanded its offshore wind and subsea power cable installation capabilities with the acquisition of a second cable laying vessel (CLV), the Skandi Connector. Delivered by DOF Group, this vessel joins Taihan's existing fleet,
enhancing its ability to undertake complex offshore wind, HVDC transmission, and long-distance power interconnection projects. The Skandi Connector, a 10,000-ton-class CLV, can carry up to 7,000 tonnes of subsea cables and has been involved in 27 projects, installing approximately 1,300 km of cables across various markets, including Europe. The vessel is equipped with advanced installation equipment, including a DP2 dynamic positioning system, a large carousel, and a tensioner for export cable and HVDC installation work.
