The Cincinnati Reds have signed former Atlanta Braves right-handed pitcher Darius Vines to a minor-league deal. Vines, 28, was assigned to Triple-A Louisville and added to the Bats' roster. Prior to joining the Reds organization, Vines was traded on August
4 by Tigres de Quintana Roo to Acereros del Norte of the Mexican League, who subsequently released him on August 18. Vines had a 3.32 ERA over 15 starts for Tigres de Quintana Roo after being released by the Braves in March. His MLB career with the Braves spanned two seasons (2023 and 2024), during which he posted a 5.82 ERA in nine appearances, including four starts. Vines made a notable MLB debut in August 2023, becoming the first visiting pitcher to debut at Coors Field, pitch six innings, and allow two runs or less in Atlanta's 7-3 victory over Colorado. He also allowed just two earned runs over six innings in another start against the Chicago Cubs in September 2023.
