What's Happening?
Middle school cross country runners from various schools, including Del Rio Middle School, Garfield Middle School, Eagle Pass Junior High, Eagle Pass Memorial Middle School, San Felipe Memorial Middle School, Brackettville, and Comstock, competed at the
Del Rio XC Invitational. The event featured four separate two-mile races for seventh and eighth graders. Garfield Middle School dominated, securing three out of four team championships: the seventh- and eighth-grade boys' titles and the seventh-grade girls' championship. Eagle Pass Memorial won the eighth-grade girls' title. Notable individual winners included Garfield's Nicolas Rodriguez in the seventh-grade boys' race and Carlos Rivera in the eighth-grade boys' race, who recorded the fastest middle school time of the day.
